WordPress site #2 (travel webpage) – hyperlink above

I decided to make an advertising campaign for travel to the Adirondack Mountains in northern New York. I used adobe photoshop to create gif animations and posters for my campaign. I even got creative and used the polygonal lasso tool on photoshop to draw my own mountains and lake. I then created a mountain range and lake scene by cutting and pasting the outlines I just created to a new page in photoshop. I had slight trouble uploading my .jpg so i took a screenshot and uploaded that.

I was unable to run adobe premiere on my laptop without it overheating so I used iMovie to create a short video encouraging travel to the Adirondack region. The link to this YouTube video is in a hyperlink above.

I provided another hyperlink above as well to my new WordPress site designated for travel attraction information and some information about the area.

All of the photos are my own and ones I have taken during my many visits to this lovely area. Throughout my movie, there are a lot of sounds that were recordings I placed underneath my photos or underneath my videos that I muted. Some of my preexisting videos had rattling from the wind or people talking. I replaced the original sounds with fitting sound recording for more refined sounds. I also used recorded sounds to play under still photos. For example, I have a photo of a bonfire and I put a sound recording I had of a campfire underneath for effect. I recorded all of my sounds too with props like leaves, birds outside, sugar spilling, or videos I already made.

My production plan is attached below but I came up with an idea about traveling because summer is fast approaching and I would love to be able to enjoy the great outdoors. I was set on the idea of a travel campaign from the start but I was between doing one for the Adirondack Mountains, NY or Greenville, SC. I ultimately chose the Adirondack Mountains because they experience more extreme seasonal changes than South Carolina. I thought from an advertising perspective, utilization of all four seasons is optimal.

The Adirondacks are home to loads of activities like boating, kayaking, hiking, swimming, skiing and so much more. There are also a multitude of events hosted throughout the six-million acres throughout any time of the year. One of my favorites things about there are is its calmness. The bigger towns like Lake George or Lake Placid experience heavier traffic from tourists but there are 3,000 lakes in the region so if you are looking for an escape this is the place to go.

I tried to match the simplistic theme of the area with the theme of my travel site. I used my own photos and wrote a description of what the pictures showed and labeled them as attractions. The writing is simple, the theme is not overbearing, and the colors are minimal besides the pictures. This was intentional. I wanted the pictures to sell my idea. Pictures are worth a thousand words.
